Meditation

What is meditation?
Meditation is coming into stillness to experience ourselves fully. We let go of everything we think defines us so that we are just breathing and being rather than doing. Then we simply watch and allow. It is so simple most people don't comprehend its power.
The profound truth is that we human beings are more than a package of flesh and blood born into this lifetime. We are also moving fields of energy expanding infinitely through time and space as is everything else in this universe. As hard as that is for our brains to comprehend, our minds experience it naturally during meditation. A meditator describes it as "the boundaries of the mind being pushed out, like the ever-widening circumference of a circle, until the circle dissolves and only infinity remains. It is a feeling of great freedom but also one of naturalness, far more real and natural than being confined to a small space."
In meditation we become aware of our dual nature as both matter and consciousness. When we experience our fullness regularly, everything in life becomes sacred and fine.
How Often?
As often as possible and for as long as feels right. Once you begin to set rules around it or to stress over whether you meditated long enough or even meditated at all that day/week, it becomes a should do event rather than the natural state that you choose to land in. My favorite way to meditate is in 10 second bites at a stop light (with my eyes open) when I am aware of my breath and I come home to myself.
There is only one guideline: Practice consistently. Meditate regularly. If you are not consistent you will not realize the profound state of peace you seek. The benefits are available to everyone without exception. Simply practice and the universe will open for you.
Join us for Meditation on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15pm.
